Ariel Monticure graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2015 with a B.F.A in Dance Performance and a minor in Journalism. During her time at SMU she was a qualitative research assistant, a public relations intern, and a contributing writer to Dallas Morning News and the student run newspaper. Upon graduating, she was employed by AT&T Media Productions to work in the pre-production phase as a scheduler/creative advisor. There she gained tremendous experience in client relations and scheduled the crewmembers of Dallas, Atlanta, and Bedminster to travel locally, nationally, and internationally for projects. Monticure felt compelled to combine her dance experience and behind-the-camera knowledge and moved to New York City in the fall of 2016 to create a dance film. ‘This Land’ is expected to screen at several film festivals in the upcoming year. Ariel enjoyed teaching for three years at I.M.Terrell for the dance program. She now has a beautiful daughter, Lily.
