Ballet Faculty

Nerea Barrondo was born in Bilbao, Spain. She received her early training at Igor Yebra's Ballet Academy were she was trained by Anna Generalova (teacher graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy) and the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma in Madrid. At age 14 Ms. Barrondo began her training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and  graduated four years later with excellent grades. She danced solo variations at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy performances such us " Flames of Paris Variation" and "Sylvia variation " and a little Cupid at the Bolshoi Ballet theatre's production of Don Quixote. During her training in Moscow Ms. Barrondo participated at the Prix de Lausanne, won 3rd prize at the Rieti Ballet competition , top 12 YAGP Paris in senior classical and contemporary division and 2nd and 1st prize at Pisa ballet competition. After her graduation Nerea joined the State Russian Ballet Company where she performed in their tour Giselle, Nutcracker and Swan Lake as one of the four swans. In September 2016 joined the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet and made her debut as Clara/Marie in the Nutcracker. Until the end of the season she performed principal roles such as "La Vivandière "lead couple, "talisman pas de deux" and "A village Don Juan" from Leonid Yakobson. In 2017 she joined the Roxey Ballet in New Jersey. During the 2 seasons she has performed roles such as Snow Queen, Dew Drop, Marzipan and Sugar Plum (Nutcracker) Michaela in Carmen, lead role in Carmina Burana, Mina in Dracula, Shanti in Mowgli and the Don Quixote Pas de deux. Nerea is looking forward to join the Ballet Frontier of Texas. 


Ms. Barrondo started teaching at the age of 18. She started giving some masterclasses in Spain after graduating from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy while she was dancing professionally at the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet in NYC .  As she really enjoyed sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with the young dancers she started teaching regularly at the Mill Ballet school in New Jersey and after a year she became a faculty member of the school. She teaches ballet, pointe, pre-pointe, repertoire class and private lessons and coaching. Ms. Barrondo choreographed ballet, character and contemporary dances for the mill ballet school showcase. Nerea and Kaito Yamamoto also guest teach ballet classes in Japan during the summer.
