Ballet & Jazz Faculty
Hannah Brown Wakefield received her training in the Royal Academy of Dance and the American Academy of Dance Performance where she completed all of her major examinations with distinction honors. She also attended several summer intensives with some of the best in ballet training such as, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet NYC, Tulsa Ballet, and Gelsey Kirkland Academy. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Ballet at BYU where she performed as a principal with Theatre Ballet. At school, she worked with many great instructors including Michael Bearden of Ballet West and Sara Webb of Houston Ballet who coached her in The Sleeping Beauty as Princess Aurora. She had the opportunity to perform in several mediums of fine arts from operas to broadway shows such as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, Phantom of the Opera. She worked at Walt Disney World as a character and parade dancer, and later participated in a study abroad to Italy, studying the origins and pedagogy of ballet at La Scala and World Dance Movement. After receiving her degree, she began her professional career with Utah Regional Ballet as a demi-soloist performing roles such as the Dewdrop Fairy in The Nutcracker, Little Cygnet in Swan Lake and Silver Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty. She looks forward to teaching at Ballet Center of Fort Worth and performing with Ballet Frontier of Texas.
