Brayan Valencia

Ballet Faculty, Boys Class

Brayan Valencia was born in Bogota, Colombia. Mr. Valencia began his training at 16 years old at Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas under the artistic direction of Doris Orjuela,  John Mario Cardenas, Marta Ospina and Maria Teresa Garcia. He has a University degree in Master in Arte Danzario with classical dance.  His performance experience in Arte Danzario includes several repositions and adaptations of dance works including Revelations by Alvin Ailey (adaptation by Fabian Franco), Petit Mort by Jiri Kylian (adaptation by Hernando Eljaiek) and Remanso by Nacho Duato (adaptation by Hernando Eljaiek). In 2015, he won a full scholarship to join the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet in New York City where he trained for three years with teachers such as Gelsey Kirkland, Nikolay Levitsky, Vera Soloieva, Ludmila Polonskaya and Michael Chernov. In the GKA he had the opportunity to perform with the academy as a  student with the Studio Company. He has danced on scholarship at Joffrey Ballet School, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, and Gelsey Kirkland ballet summer programs and has worked with the choreographer Ramon Thielen. In 2017, Valencia Joined the Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Enrique Cruz De Jesus, and performed with them in their "45th Anniversary Celebration". Valencia Joined the Hudson Youth Valley Ballet last spring under the artistic direction of Aaron Thao, performing the principal role as prince in "The Cinderella" production. Brayan joined the Ballet Frontier of Texas family for the  2018-2019 season.

Mr. Valencia is excited to be teaching the Boys class at Ballet Center.
