Ariel Monticure is a Fort Worth native. She began her training at age 5 with former North Pacific Ballet soloist, Victoria Fedine. Since then she has studied at School of Texas Ballet Theatre, Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, Milwaukee School of Ballet, The School of American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Center of Ft. Worth, and STEPS on Broadway. Ms. Monticure has performed works in the fields of musical theatre with Casa Mañana’s Bass Hall Productions, ballet, and modern. She has been fortunate to be cast in an original work by former New York City Ballet soloist, Mel Tomlinson. For the 100th anniversary of the Rite of Spring, Ms. Monticure was given the opportunity to perform Dutch choreographer Joost Vrouenraets’s premiere. The show was awarded “Best Dance Performance in Dallas” in 2013. Ms. Monticure graduated in 2015 from Southern Methodist University with a B.F.A in Dance Performance. Her choreography and performance has been featured in a dance film staged in New York City. The film will be shown at several film festivals in the upcoming year. Currently she is a full-time faculty member at Ballet Center of Ft. Worth and freelance arts writer for Theater Jones.
