As Artistic Director of Ballet Center of Fort Worth, Ms. Tseng passes on her professional experience, developing students who will be prepared to lead the way in the future of professional dance.
Ms. Tseng is from Italy, where she began her training studying classical ballet with teachers such as Mr. Erik Bruhn, Ms. Yvette Chauvire’, Mr. Bruno Telloli, Mr. Ricardo Nunez and Ms. Ekaterina Maximova. Ms Tseng started her professional career in Italy where she danced with Teatro Comunale of Florence, Teatro Regio of Torino, and Teatro Nuovo of Torino. In 1990 she accepted an offer from Mr. Roy Tobias to join the Universal Ballet Company of Seoul. With this Company she danced at first in the corp de ballet, and within a short time she accepted the responsibility as one of the few western dancers in an oriental ballet company. She was quickly offered soloist roles and achieved the rank of Ballerina when she was chosen to perform the leading role in the Marinsky Theatre production of Swan Lake. With Universal Ballet Ms. Tseng has performed internationally in many classical roles. In 1998, she was offered a contract as Principal Dancer with Texas Ballet Theater and she has been featured in all the principal roles of the company repertoire. In 2002 she was chosen to dance the role of Giselle with the international acclaimed star Mr. Carlos Acosta and in 2004 she was awarded the Best Dancer of the Year award.
Along with her dancing career Ms. Tseng highly enjoys teaching the art of ballet to young and devoted students. Enrica has also produced a tour to Italy for James Jeon Ballet Theatre that included a very special evening for the Italian Red Cross. In the year 2002 and 2003 her husband and she produced “ An Evening of Ballet”, an outreach performance for ballet followers of our community in Fort Worth. The evening was later awarded by the Star-Telegram as one of the “ Ten Best Performing Events” of the year 2002.
In September 2005, Ms. Enrica Guana Tseng and her husband Mr. Chung-Lin Tseng opened the Ballet Center of Fort Worth, where they pass on their talents, passion, and artistry to the future dancers of North Texas.
